Recreational Classes
| Saturday | 11.45am - 12.45pm | 1.00pm - 2.00pm |
All the gymnasts start in the recreational classes, and are grouped with children of a similar age and ability. A qualified coach is assigned to each group, and is supported by 1 or 2 coaching assistants depending on the size of the group. The coach is dedicated to the same group each week, so they can build trust with the gymnasts and oversee their development.
A typical recreational class consists of a group warm up, followed by rotations on 2 pieces of equipment. Over a 3 week period, the gymnasts will have practised on the following equipment; A Bars, beam, floor, vault, trampette, tumble strip.
Whilst in their groups, the gymnasts work towards the appropriate level of the BGA proficiency awards scheme. Our recreational gymnasts also get the chance to compete in our annual Club Competition and also the County Recreational Apparatus Final.
